Chinese independent refners are increasingly seeking to upgrade to hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) plants to meet China’s renewable energy target. Henan Junheng Industrial Group Biotechnology is retroft- ting a heavy wax to technical-white oil unit at Puyang in Henan province into a HVO plant that can process 400,000 t/yr of palm oil mill efuent (Pome) and used cooking oil (UCO) next month.
