This was a nice surprise to find in the editorial postbox: a charming monograph on Plane Sailing's PBY-5A Catalina to mark this much-loved warbird's 80th anniversary. Text by Catalina doyen David Legg is a guarantee of authority, and it's an excellent, informative read, taking in all the aeroplane's recent adventures, including the much-reported 2020 stay on Loch Ness. Even better are the photos, which (the odd slightly pixelated archive black-and-white shot aside) are well-chosen and properly reproduced. Rest assured I'd say that even if one of my own hadn't been included. All net proceeds go towards keeping the 'Cat' in airworthy condition. Excellent stuff.
