Monthly dollar sales at U.S. gas stations fell 4.6% inDecember, ending a nine-month streak in which seasonally adjusted sales were above $60 billion, the Census Bureaureported Wednesday.U.S. gas station sales were $59.58 billion in December,down from $62.436 billion in November, but still up 5.2% yearon year. As inflation gained momentum, the December 2021total hit $56.644 billion, a new high at the time. The numbersare seasonally adjusted, but not adjusted for price changes.
