As 2022 opens with the continent rocked by a war that many thought unthinkable, Europe looks to continues on the path to develop indigenous military capabilities and better rely on its own capabilities, not least of all in the aerospace sector, where so many jobs and careers are committed. Spearheaded by Europe's Organisation for Joint Armament Cooperation (OGCAR), the Eurodrone programme will see Airbus Defence and Space acting as the co-ordinating company for some of the continent's other leading defence players, including Leonardo and Dassault Aviation, to produce 60 MALE UAVs for the existing four customers in France, Germany, Italy and Spain.
