UAE’s ADNOC awards $548 mil contract to boost Lower Zakum gas capacity

Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. has awarded a $548 million contract to raise the gas production capacity of the Lower Zakum field as part of plans to reach gas self-sufficiency in the UAE. UAE-based National Petroleum Construction Co. won the contract to increase the offshore field’s gas production capacity to 700 MMcf/d from 430 MMcf/d, ADNOC said in a Sept. 5 statement.
