Indian state-controlled refner IOC has raised its basic October sales prices of petroleum coke by up to 14pc on the month at its three refneries, refecting frmer seaborne coke prices and a weaker rupee against the US dollar. IOC increased the price of coke sold from its Koyali refnery in west India’s Gujarat state by 2,210 rupees/t ($26.90/t) on the month to Rs17,930/t in October. Its Panipat refnery in north India’s Haryana state revised prices up by Rs2,210/t to Rs18,800/t. Prices at its Paradip refnery on India’s east coast were raised by Rs2,210/t to Rs17,250/t. But the refner cut prices for coke at Haldia refnery on India’s east coast by Rs500/t to Rs17,360/t. The previous price at Haldia was higher than the market but included discounts. These are ex-refnery prices and valid for sales of coke transported by rail efective from 9 October.
