1.The Chinese city of Shenzhen has raised its average wastewater tariff by 45% to RMB1.34/m~3 ($0.20/m~3). 2.The Asian Development Bank launched its Asia and the Pacific Water Resilience Hub earlier this month. The new platform will enable stakeholders to share knowledge and build water resilience through collaboration. 3.The Yangon City Development Committee, which governs Myanmar's largest city, intends to divide the metropolitan area into 14 zones to implement a new sewerage development plan. Existing sewage facilities only cover 5% of the population. 4.Tianjin Capital Environmental Protection wants to float an infrastructure-based real estate investment trust, and has selected four municipal WWTPs as the underlying assets. 5.China's Ministry of Finance has approved a 2022 public budget of RMB6.12 billion ($0.9 billion) to support municipal wastewater treatment and network construction projects under its sponge cities programme.
