Nitrification of high strength ammonium wastewater in an aerated submerged fixed bed

摘要

The submerged fixed bed offers advantages for the nitrificationprocess because of its high stability, its compact- ness, the highapplicable volumetric loadings and the very good distribution of thewastewater on the whole biofilm in the reactor. The objectives ofthis study were to evaluate the performances of this process and theoptimal C:N(organic carbon: ammonium-nitrogen)ratio for the treatmentof high strength ammonium wastewaters(0.2 to 5 kg NH~+_4- N_m.~-3).
