摘要

Rates of pornography consumption grow fast, presenting a great diversity of consumption patterns, including consumption by couples, individually or together. While the consumption of sexual contents has captured scientific, political, and societal attention long before the advent of the internet, pornography consumption within relationships has triggered a new debate. Within this regard, societies have demonized pornography throughout the times and made it a target of constant scrutiny and stigma. Even so, many individuals keep using pornography as an intrinsic part of dieir (sexual)life and relationships, suggesting that pornography consumption may play a role in people's developmental process. That evidence challenges professionals to understand how does pornography consumption intersects with relationships during lifespan. Current data offer a narrow answer, in part because theoretical frameworks have not been guiding scientific research, capturing the high complexity of human relationships.
