Those of you who enjoy Dave Unwin's 'Pilot Perspective' features in FlyPast will be pleased to know that he has now authored a book celebrating his many and varied flying experiences. Formerly the editor of longstanding journal Today's Pilot, Dave's exploits in the air - and on the ground - are rightly the stuff of legend. With some 5,000 flying hours on around 300 aircraft types (and counting) he's in a perfect position to compare and contrast. In Sky Stories, the author gets to grips with everything from a B-17 to a Jungmeister, and few are better placed to describe the pleasures and challenges of each type. Dave relates his experience in shimmering detail, putting the agog reader beside him in the cockpit - and, in the case of the Storch - casually throws in anecdotes about chatting with the late Eric Brown about the type.
