Selchuk “Semo” Kurtev runs independent crop consultancy Zest, offering services to growers across multiple sectors. His clients represent more than 30 of the UK ornamentals industry and almost 25 by area of the UK forest nursery sector. He also provides services to customers in the soft-and stone-fruit sectors.Kurtev works closely with the HTA, the NFU and, until recently, the AHDB. He has been involved with applications for emergency derogations for cropprotection products and is currently involved in research and development projects with Harper Adams University, the Biotechnology Biological Sciences Research Council and Warwick Crop Centre. He would be pleased to hear from bright, enthusiastic postgraduate students, fresh out of university, who want to work at the cutting edge with ornamental and ediblecrops.
