GERMAN Chancellor Olaf Scholz has attempted to aid the return to Russia of an overhauled turbine needed to boost gas supplies via the subsea Nord Stream 1 pipeline. The gas-fired component has been stuck in Germany for almost two weeks since it was flown over from Canada, where it had undergone necessary maintenance.
