ExxonMobil, Imperial Oil sell XTO Energy Canada to Whitecap Resources for $1.47 bil

Small Canadian public operator Whitecap Resources signed a purchase and sale agreement with ExxonMobil Canadian affiliates and Imperial Oil to acquire XTO Energy Canada for about $1.47 billion or C$1.7 billion, the three entities said in separate statements late June 28. XTO Canada is jointly owned by ExxonMobil and Canadian major Imperial Oil.
