Low water levels forecast for lower Mississippi

Low-water conditions are expected to return to parts of the lower Mississippi River in late August, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). The river near Tiptonville and Caruthersville, Missouri, near mile markers 870 and 846, and Tunica, Mississippi, near mile marker 676, is forecast to dip below the low-water threshold between 25 and 27 August.
