Shipping PI clubs to raise insurance premiums

Several of shipping’s key protection and indemnity (P&I) clubs are to ask shipowners for higher premiums from February 2022, which could increase baseline costs and lead to higher spot market prices. The expected increases range from 7.5-12.5pc, according to the clubs, and comes because of increased risk across the industry.
