Every other year, Hall 6 at the Fairgrounds of Messe Dusseldorf hosts exhibitors for Tube Dusseldorf, but on March 1, a thousand cots were set up at the hall to accommodate Ukrainian refugees who have fled their homeland. That same day, they all were filled. "On the day of construction, a large number of colleagues spontaneously lent a hand to make the accommodation possible as quickly as possible," said Messe Dusseldorf President & CEO Wolfram N. Diener, who noted that the trade show organizer was pleased to accommodate a request from the Office for Migration and Integration of the city of Dusseldorf. "Because we are moved by the fate of the people. And because we are deeply moved by the plight of the refugees. Receiving and accommodating them is a matter of course for us."
