Aims The aim of the study was to assess resistance and virulence of Enterococcus faecalis isolated from the gastrointestinal tract of dogs and cats, analyse their genotypic variability and estimate the correlation between the occurrence of antimicrobial resistance, virulence determinants and genotypic profiles.
