Rita Baranwal, ANS member since 2008 and Fellow, has been appointed chief technology officer for West-inghouse Electric Company. Baran-wal's appointment marks her return to Westinghouse, where she worked for nearly a decade in leadership positions. Prior to rejoining Westinghouse, Baranwal served as assistant secretary for the Department of Energy's Office of Nuclear Energy. She also has held senior leadership roles with Idaho National Laboratory as director of the Gateway for Accelerated Innovation in Nuclear (GAIN), and she most recently was the chief nuclear officer and vice president of nuclear for the Electric Power Research Institute.
