Numerous methods exist to control and operate a water system with single or multiple pumps. In the January 2022 installment of The Water Works, we introduced the concept of basic water system control as it applies to single and multiple pumping units. In this month's second and final installment outlining water system control methods, we will discuss multi-variable measurement techniques and demand versus scheduling control logic along with control of common water system types such as irrigation, industrial, and municipal water systems.
