The Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade has proposed a three-year, Koruna 8.23 billion ($370 million) package to help the country’s heat and power sector shift from coal to natural gas. The proposal is in consultation with other ministries until Feb. 8, when it should be submitted for final approval by the government. A significant proportion of the proposed support is targeted at new highly-efficient gas-fired cogeneration facilities that start operation before the end of 2024, with auctioned support offered for up to 1,000 MW in each of the three years.
