Brazil mines, energy ministry submits nomination for new Petrobras CEO

The office of Brazil President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva approved the nomination of former Rio Grande do Norte Sen. Jean Paul Prates as the next CEO at state-led oil company Petrobras, with the Mines and Energy Ministry submitting the nomination to Petrobras, the ministry said Jan. 13. The official dispatch, which also included Prates’ nomination to Petrobras’ board of directors, was submitted Jan. 12, the ministry and Petrobras said in separate statements.
