Peru awards LNG distribution contracts

Peru has awarded two LNG distribution contracts to supply northern and southern cities using cryogenic tankers. The two projects will receive LNG from the 4.4mn t/yr Peru LNG plant operated by US firm Hunt Oil south of Lima to supply a total of at least 220,000 households. The projects form part of a broader effort on the part of the Peruvian government to ramp up the domestic use of natural gas.
