Some excess capacity at US firm Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG export terminal in Louisiana will provide LNG bunker fuel for vessels along the US Gulf coast. Cheniere has reached an agreement to provide supplies from Sabine Pass to LNG Central,which plans to form an LNG vessel and storage network throughout the Gulf coast and some interior locations,LNG Central chief executive Keith Meyer said in late January.LNG Central is first focusing on using barges to provide LNG bunker fuel along the coast, Meyer says.The project is scheduled to come on line as soon as the Sabine Pass facility starts production,due in late 2015 or early 2016.Cheniere will be an investor in LNG Central and the venture is looking for additional partners,Meyer says. Meyer is a former Cheniere executive.
