Shell restarts storm-shuttered Mars, Ursa platforms ahead of schedule

Shell has restarted production at its Mars and Ursa platforms in the US Gulf of Mexico and resumed exports from the West Delta-143 “A” facility, the company said Nov. 5. Production at the platforms had been shut-in since late August due to damage at the WD-143 facility following Hurricane Ida, which transited the central Gulf of Mexico before making landfall as a category 4 storm in southeast Louisiana Aug. 29.
