Information technology Promotion Agency (IPA) has been conducting the evaluation of cryptographic techniques. The purpose of this project is to list valid cryptographic techniques for the use of an electronic government infrastructure. In this paper, we applied Linear Sum Attack to the ciphers for detailed evaluation. The attack, which is generalization of Interpolation Attack, is proposed by Aoki in SCIS '99. We applied Interpolation Attack and Linear Sum Attack to each cipher, and compared these, the numbers of round that can be applied. As a result, we show for Mistyl, SC2000, FEAL-NX and MARS, that Linear Sum Attack needs less number of chosen plaintexts compared with the Interpolation Attack Moreover we also showed that the necessary number of data, which is suggested by Aoki, is insufficient for some ciphers. These are some cases in which we need double number of data for the accurate evaluation.
