Russian domestic long product demand has stagnated over the past month. The usual weaker level of construction activity during the winter season was exacerbated by the prolonged two week holidays. Infrastructure construction was also down and given the additional day of holidays this year it is likely to be lower y/y for the period as well. Nevertheless, the steel market was far from quiet.
