But in the wake of the financial crisis, platform econo-mies à la Airbnb, and low interest rates, it is increasingly becoming an object of specula-tion - with massive consequences for rental costs and the social fabric of our cities. Vienna takes the gold as the "world's most liveable city". Still, how do the Viennese really live? What we know about this topic is essentially limited to facades and floor plans, which are still designed by architects and developers. Once the keys have been handed over, how we live is a private matter, yet it is also the inter-face between the individual and the city.
