Looking at this image, you may not know the importance of it. This photo was taken inside BioNTech's Marburg facility that manufactures the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. Acquired from Novartis in September 2020, the site was granted manufacturing approval in early 2021 and the first batches were released in April. The Marburg facility is one of the largest mRNA vaccine manufacturing sites worldwide, with an annual production capacity of up to one billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
