FAO raises record wheat output forecast

Global production outlooks for wheat in 2016 are firmer year-on-year, according to the UN's Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), driven by gains in India, Russia and the US. In its Cereal Supply and Demand brief, the FAO upwardly revised its forecast for wheat to record volumes, while coarse grain production - the vast majority of which comes from maize - also displayed gains over 2015 estimates.
