US agrochemical company American Vanguard (Los Angeles, California) has acquired Ecuadorian agrochemical and plant nutrition business Punto Verde (Guayaquil) through its subsidiary, Amvac Latam. Managing director of American Vanguard’s international operations, Peter Eilers, says that while terms have not been disclosed, the deal was “not sizeable”. However, he is confident of a boost to business. “This will add about 5 to our total Lat Am sales… we see this as an important path for market access in South America through a well-managed distribution business,” Mr Eilers says.
