UK-The onset of the Covid-19 crisis has been the predominant factor synthetic rubber(SR)market,but is not the only challenge facing suppliers.Trinseo's SR business,for example,reported a double-digit decline in first quarter sales,with orders for materials such as solution styrene butadiene rubber being cancelled.The decline in demand"began in late March and accelerated in April particularly in automotive,tire and textile markets,"reported Trinseo,which expects the slide to continue in the second quarter.Tire demand was down 60% year-over-year in April,though the US group reported"an improved order flow"for May and June.
