I don't have a clue.Holiday has never been the biggest bonanza for home textiles, which are not up there with KitchenAid stand mixers, fuzzy slippers or big honkin' TVs as something most people are likely to find all tinseled up under the ChristmasTree...or other cultural artifact.Even if the wonderful world of sheets and towels usually has to wait its turn until the January White Sales, holiday does represent at least a small spike in sales if for no other reason than people are in a shopping mood and figure, what's one more charge on their credit card. (The industry is good with that, by the way.)But this year's holiday is a tricky thing to figure out. Inflation is up, but so is employment. People are back in the stores, even if it's mostly to buy things for outside the home. Airplanes and airports are jammed, yet some of that is for visiting friends and family for the holidays, which often means not arriving empty handed.
