AIRBUS CORPORATE Jets (ACJ) passed a major milestone in the ACJ TwoTwenty programme at the end of the year, with the initial flight of the first aircraft. On December 14, C-FTWU, c/n 50062, lifted off from Montreal-Mirabel International Airport in Quebec, Canada, flown by two test pilots who were accompanied by a flight test engineer. The TwoTwenty is the business jet variant of the A220-100 airliner. Following a short flight test campaign, the aircraft will be handed over to its launch customer, the Comlux Group, and during January will fly to its facility in Indianapolis, Indiana, where it will be outfitted with its cabin fixtures and features. Comlux has an agreement with ACJ to act as the exclusive outfitter for the first 15 TwoTwenties produced.
