Essentially BMW's fully electric 7 Series, the i7 xDrive60 is a superb luxury four-door. It doesn't take long to understand why it costs more than the 740i or 760i gas models, but what really caught our attention was how it felt at the test track. The i7 in xDrive60 form comes with standard AWD thanks to front and rear motors, and its performance roughly matches that of the 760i. By launching with an xDrive60 instead of a less capable xDrive50, BMW maximizes the performance factor in a way that might influence a few 760i buyers to go EV. Its 536 combined hp-by no coincidence the same amount as its V-8 counterpart-and 549 lb-ft of torque sounds like a lot, but the figures are puny compared to the 1,000-hp-plus models from Lucid and Tesla. But in a way, who cares?
