RWE H1 power output up 25 on higher German lignite generation

RWE's H1 power generation surged 25% year on year, driven primarily by higher production from its German lignite and UK gas plants. The German-based utility generated 80.9 TWh in the first half, compared to 64.50 TWh in H1 2020. Of that total, lignite generation represented 21.47 TWh, up 50% from 14.33 TWh previously. Hard coal generation totalled 747 GWh, down from 977 GWh previously.
