St Croix refnery battles smoldering coke

A fre that broke out at the coke conveyor system of a closed refnery in St Croix on 21 August is under control, according to refnery owner Port Hamilton (PHRT). The fre erupted as PHRT was combating a smoldering pile of petroleum coke that it said started on 4 August. The fre was within the petroleum coke conveyor loading system, located outside and above the coke storage dome, PHRT said.
