Employers' lack of support for menopausal symptoms is pushing highly skilled and experienced women out of work, a new report has found. The House of Commons Women and Equalities Committee report follows an inquiry on menopause and the workplace which found that stigma, a lack of support and discrimination play key roles in forcing menopausal employees out of the workplace. A survey of over 2,000 women commissioned by the Committee found that 67 per cent reported a loss of confidence as a result of menopausal symptoms and 70 per cent reported increased stress. However, only 12 per cent of respondents sought any workplace adjustments, with one in four citing worries about their employers' reaction as their reason for not doing so.
