In late July, a Royal Air Force Boeing P-8 Poseidon MRA1 released a torpedo for the first time - just 16 months after gaining Initial Operating Capability. The sortie's rational was to prove that the RAF's Poseidon fleet can complete the end-to-end process of tasking and launching a torpedo.
