Stone from nearby Jean-Christophe Quinton explains that the three curves of the stone facade result from the context, as: "Limestone, as a reference to the Parisian materiality, but also in order to build ecologically - using the material from the nearest quarry. The curves take up the lines of the neighbouring buildings, which are setback differently from the street line, but they do this discreetly, without abrupt offsets." The vertical windows with folding metal blinds and decorative railings also echo the idiom of Parisian buildings. The skilful use of the three curves that increase theatrically towards the top, helps the apartment building to fit into the historic Parisian cityscape, not just in material but also in spatial terms. The design strategy leads to a new form of expression, here ornament is no longer expressed by stucco, but by the curves that generate form and shape space.
