Melanie sent out warps before the start of Summer School. All the warps were different, with various threading patterns and colour combinations. Suggestions were made on lift plans for each warp, and we were encouraged to experiment in our samples. Daily presentations included the basics of doubleweave structure, the benefits of using doubleweave, using the Fiberworks computer program and how to weave pick-up patterns. Our second warps were made according to individual preferences with advice and support from Melanie. We reviewed the results of everyone's progress every day and shared in the wide range of results possible from the different warp and lift plans, yarn and colour combinations. A truly inspiring workshop.
