INVESTIGATIONS are under way after two separate gas leaks occurred on Monday at Equinor's mature Sleipner field offshore Norway. Gas escapted on Equinor's Sleipner A platform and there was a subsequent leak hours later on the Sleipner R riser platform at the same field. Equinor confirmed the initial gas leak that occurred in a contained area related to a turbine on Sleipner A was quickly rectified. However, during the process of resuming production and depres-surisation, a further gas leak was discovered the same day. "Personnel on board mustered according to procedure in both situations, but they were demobilised shortly afterwards. No personnel were injured in any of the incidents," Equinor said.
