摘要

Dr Simon Roe joined the Veterinary and Comparative Orthopaedics and Traumatology (VCOT) journal in 2008 as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief, and he has made immeasurable contributions to the journal in this role over the last 15 years. Simon was educated as a veterinarian in Australia, and subsequently completed a surgery residence in Illinois and a PhD at the University of New South Wales. After this, Simon took a faculty position at North Carolina State University where he rose to become Professor and Head of Small Animal Surgery. It was mainly as a result of his PhD training that he developed a long-standing interest in clinically-relevant orthopaedic biomechanics. In addition to the other various responsibilities of the Deputy EIC, Simon's expertise in biomechanics has been crucial in supporting the peer review and publication of papers in this field. Simon has now decided that it is time to step down from this role as Deputy EIC, but he will continue to provide his expertise as reviewer for the journal from time to time. I want to offer my sincere appreciation to Simon for his enormous contribution to building the reputation and standing of VCOT. Thank you, Simon, for all you have done to elevate standards and care of our orthopaedic patients. I look forward to our continued friendship, and wish you the very best for the future.Publication HistoryArticle published online:17 November 2022© 2022. Thieme.
