摘要

The current research focuses on the microstructural analysis, damping, and magnetostrictive behavior of the Fe-12Al and Fe-21Al alloys doped with Tb after various mechanical and heat treatments. The thermomechanical treatment provides enhanced magnetostriction in both Fe-12Al and Fe-21Al with Tb addition. The maximal magnetostriction was observed in the alloys after hot rolling and subsequent 30 min annealing at 900 degrees C followed by air cooling. Tb increases the low temperature IF background and magnetostriction of Fe-21Al-Tb alloy.
