Jemena has partnered up with Sydney Water and the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to announce the beginning of construction on a new $ 16 million biomethane project at the Malabar Waste Water Treatment Plant in Sydney. The project will create biomethane by extracting it from the biogas generated by waste water and blend it into Sydney's gas network by the end of 2022. It will be a carbon neutral addition to the city's existing gas infrastructure for heating, cooking and manufacturing.
