We noticed previously high-efficiency light emission characteristics of polysilanes in ultraviolet (UV) region and realized visible light emission also by utilizing efficient intermolecular energy transfer. Si-Si bonding in the main-chain, however, suffers scission by irradiating UV lights, which limits reliability for various applications. Aim at restraining molecular decomposition due to UV light irradiation, we have doped water-soluble polysilanes into glass matrix and observed an improvement in reliability.
