Abstract Nerve entrapment syndromes about the elbow are not uncommon and are often diagnostically challenging. An understanding of the anatomy of the relevant nerves is paramount in recognition of various presentations and in the localization of nerve compression sites. A precise diagnosis must be based on a thorough history and physical examination, imaging and neurophysiological studies. An initial attempt at non-operative measures is the mainstay of treatment. In recalcitrant cases, tailoring the nerve decompression surgery according to clinical suspicion can help optimize the operative outcomes.
