At Hamline University, students must participate in a number of courses designated as “writing intensive” or “speaking intensive.” This paper discusses the author's experience of teaching an intermediate level geometry course as both writing and speaking intensive. It suggests ways to use both speaking and writing activities to enhance student learning. Student reactions to the course are discussed.
