G bands of prematurely condensed mouse diplotene bivalents

G-banding was induced along prematurely condensed mouse diplotene bivalents. The banding patterns of the diplotene chromosomes demonstrated a good correspondence with patterns of banded mouse metaphase chromosomes. The differentiation present along the mitotic chromosomes appears to be conserved in the diplotene cell.
