SummaryThe problems of administering drugs by addition to intravenous infusions may be overcome in a number of ways. Some drugs may be injected slowly into the line of an intravenous infusion. Others may be provided as primary infusion solutions, or compounded by the Pharmacy as intravenous admixtures i.e. by providing a Pharmacy Intravenous Additive Service.
