The world’s biggest oilfield services company, Schlumberger, has rebranded itself as SLB, as it looks to broaden itself to a global technology firm with growing low-carbon credentials. The company said Oct. 24 that this new identity underscores its “vision for a decarbonized energy future.” Schlumberger CEO Olivier Le Peuch said the name change shows the company’s “commitment” to facilitating the world’s energy needs today and forging the road ahead for the energy transition.”
